An Apprentice Electrician from our Barnsley office has been recognised at the prestigious G4C Yorkshire and Humber Awards.
Jordan Taylor took home the coveted title of Trade Apprentice of the Year, having impressed the judges with his exceptional commitment to his apprenticeship, showing a strong determination to learn and develop his skills.
Jordan, who is three years into his four year apprenticeship, has always wanted to be an electrician, and has quickly become a valuable member of the team.
Working on a variety of electrical projects across West Yorkshire Police sites has given him exposure to working to tight deadlines, displaying a strong sense of initiative and a desire to complete work to the highest standard.
Outside of work, Jordan has also offered his support at careers talks and presentations in local schools, interacting with pupils and staff.
NPS Barnsley’s Managing Director, Karen Temple, said: “We’re incredibly proud of Jordan for this outstanding achievement.
“This award is a fitting recognition of all the hard work he has put into his apprenticeship, and is testament not only to his ability, but also to his drive to continue to excel in his field.”
To cap off the evening, Karen was also delighted to see NPS Barnsley ‘Highly Commended’ at the awards ceremony for the category of Commitment to Employee Training & Development.
“When it comes to positively supporting our people and the communities in which we work, we believe that NPS Barnsley is one of the industry leaders.
“And because our staff are our business, we provide a supportive working environment where our investment in staff training and personal development means that they can truly realise their potential.”
