NPS parent company Norse Group was proud to sponsor the Association of Chief Estates Surveyors and Property Managers (ACES) Conference 2018, held at Downing College, Cambridge on Thursday 20 September.
The team held a successful stand at the event and Group Director Lyndon Watkins presented to the conference, discussing Norse Group’s collaborative approach to Joint Venture partnerships.
At the ACES Eastern Branch meeting the following day, delegates gathered to watch a drone demonstration led by NPS.
Hosted by Cesar Franco, NPS Land Surveyor, the presentation showcased the versatility of this new Group service and the benefits offered to clients. These include photogrammetry (scaling from aerial images), thermal imaging, reductions in cost (as a result of negating the use of access equipment such as scaffolding), less time on site, improved safety for surveyors (for instance undertaking clifftop monitoring for Coastal authorities) and improvement in accuracy as the service becomes fully digital.
The exercise was witnessed by the bursar of Downing College, Cambridge University where the conference was held, who was keen to see the application of drone surveying technology to high level building surveys, which is an area of interest for those with responsibilities for historic building estates.
Delegates then posed for a group photo captured by the drone (pictured), which will feature in the forthcoming edition of the ACES Terrier Magazine.
