NPS was delighted to join over 150 scientists, researchers, engineers, industrial partners and government representatives this month at the 2018 EU-China Symposiums.
The three day event focused on Sustainable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Phase Change Energy Storage Technologies and forms part of a four year research consortium led by the University of Hull. The consortium, which NPS Humber joined in 2017, is researching ‘Low Energy Dew Point Cooling for Computing & Data Centres’. Dr Feifei Sun, Energy Consultant at NPS Humber is leading on four case studies across the EU.
The Symposium consisted of 14 keynote speeches delivered by world leading scientists which provided detailed insight into the world’s most cutting-edge research results and the potential for future development.
A number of sessions enabling researchers to showcase their achievements were arranged at the Symposium. Topics included renewable energy and phase change energy storage technologies, sustainable fridge and air conditioning and energy efficiency and energy saving technologies. Dr Feifei Sun joined the EU-China Industrial Talks where a number of business leaders from across the globe presented their product technology, research and development progress.
Phil Vozza, Managing Director at NPS Humber also gave a presentation and discussed some of the energy saving projects that have been completed by NPS Humber. He explained what else the Group will be doing in the future to support energy saving and creating environmentally friendly buildings and cities. NPS also had a successful exhibition stand at the event and were able to engage with delegates, from both industrial and research organisations. Impressed by Phil’s presentation, NPS was invited to present its work at a conference in September in Greece, by another EU funded consortium.
The event was significant in promoting the relationship between the UK, Europe and China within the field and the cooperation of industry and academic institutions. It also raised the national and international reputation of NPS within the building energy efficiency field.
