NPS Group is proud to announce that Kathryn Ladley, Senior Management Consultant at NPS Leeds, has recently been invited to sit on the JCT Council.
The JCT (Joint Contracts Tribunal) was formed by RIBA in 1931 and ever since then a large majority of construction projects have been delivered using one of the JCT suite of standard forms of contract.
Kathryn has been invited to represent the Local Government Association (LGA) as one of 47 members on the JCT Council. Her appointment commences almost immediately on 7 June with a meeting in London.
Kathryn said: “Initially I thought about it as being just one of those things that come with experience and was a way of giving back to an industry which had given me so much enjoyment and satisfaction over the years. However when I started to think about my early career and how important the ability to both understand and manage contract forms was in respect of my role delivering projects for my employers, I realised my invitation really was quite a big deal!”
Kathryn has over 45 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying and Project Management and has had an extremely impressive career. In 1977 she was one of just three women to hold both an IQS and RICS qualification, and in 2017 was deservingly rewarded with the Lifetime Achievement in Construction accolade at the European Women in Construction and Engineering Awards.
