Wharfedale View, a multimillion-pound extra care housing scheme for which NPS provided a number of services, has received the West Yorkshire LABC Building Excellence Awards 2017 Inclusive Design Award.
This award recognises the high standards of construction and workmanship that went in to creating the flagship scheme for Leeds City Council.
Our Leeds office provided early design work and a comprehensive range of services during later design and construction phases, including project management, NEC supervision, and technical and CDM advice.
Wharfedale View provides 45 self-contained apartments, each with its own front door, bathroom and kitchen, allowing residents to live independently but with access to the care they need. Individuals can maintain their independence, continue with interests and hobbies, and also feel safe and secure in their own home.
The NPS team highly influenced the design of this prestigious and innovative project, working closely with Leeds City Council and the Planning Department. NPS liaised with councillors, Housing Leeds and other stakeholders with knowledge of elderly care and care homes during the design phase to achieve a fully collaborated design, meeting the needs of all stakeholders prior to the project going to tender.
