Mechanical & electrical design

We understand the key role a building's mechanical and electrical services play, and how they can enhance the user experience.  Building services are at their most successful when they remain virtually un-noticed.

Our approach is to develop excellent relationships with all of our customers.  We offer reassurance that a building's users will remain safe and warm during refurbishment work.   After completion of our projects, they can expect to be comfortable in well-lit and ventilated spaces.

We provide our services both as part of an integrated design team for a new building project, and as a stand-alone service for existing properties.  Our services engineers have the training, qualifications and experience to provide controlled comfort at the minimum cost to both the customer and the environment.  Our people share best practice with other industry professionals, and are proud of their expertise in designing the following services to ensure a building’s sustainable functionality:

  • Electricity supply and distribution
  • Gas supply and distribution
  • Renewable energy
  • Water supply, distribution, and drainage
  • Lighting systems — particularly low-energy
  • Fire detection and protection
  • Lightning protection
  • Lift engineering
  • Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning
  • Telecommunications and IT networks
  • Security control systems
  • Access for people with disabilities

We are also sensitive to the context in which our services are delivered.  Our people are very experienced in the sensitivities of working in occupied buildings.  They carry out their duties with the minimum of noise and disruption.

We are on site as often as is needed, because we care about getting it right first time.  Our specialists ensure that physical installations match the specified design.  The contractors we work with all know the high standards that we demand.  If any difficulties are encountered, we are there to make sure they are resolved as quickly as possible.  Our site visit reports provide the information that the customer’s quality assurance systems need, and our continual informal communication gives reassurance and peace of mind.
