Civic and Community

Our roots within the public sector have given us a strong awareness of the current agendas and drivers that affect civic and community properties. Our strategic asset management programmes help our clients realise the full potential of their portfolios, and rationalise them where further efficiencies can be identified.

We are able to deliver schemes for new community facilities that are not only efficient and functional, but also attractive and inspirational. Using our expert knowledge of modern low-energy building services, we are able to reduce the environmental impact of civic buildings. With this approach we can also investigate how additional project funds can be obtained by incorporating features that add to the sustainability of the scheme.

We aim for our civic buildings to be comfortable places that people genuinely want to visit. In this way we help our clients to transform the way that the local population use the facilities available to them. These include Libraries, Town Halls, parks and Leisure Centres.

Our approach

A sensitive refurbishment for Elsecar Newcomen Engine

NPS was recently commissioned to provide quantity surveying and CDMC services for the refurbishment of one of the most important industrial heritage sites in the UK.

Sensitive church development

We were consultants for the conversion of the 15th century St Lawrence Church in Ipswich into a modern cafe / bistro.

Collaborative streetscape design

We collaborated with many stakeholders in the design of a streetscape in Ulverston, featuring a statue of Laurel & Hardy.

Matching cost and budget

A community centre project in West Sussex had a funding shortfall, until we found ways of bringing the cost down and sourcing further funds.
