The launch of a new housing development, delivered by NPS, took place this week at Cobcar Lane, Elsecar.
Heritage Mews will provide six three-bedroom, semi-detached modern homes. Cllr Roy Miller, Cabinet Spokesperson for Place at Barnsley Council, officially marked the beginning of construction turning the first sod of land on the site, with work beginning yesterday.
Karen Temple, Managing Director for NPS Barnsley, added: “This development marks the beginning of NPS Barnsley’s new build ‘housing for sale’ venture, and we’re really pleased to be building in Elsecar village, helping the council achieve its housing aspirations and boosting the supply of quality housing in the borough”.
Cllr Miller said: “Creating more and better housing is a council priority, and this site will provide fantastic family homes.
We’ve made sure that by working with partners NPS Barnsley, Berneslai Homes, and experienced agents Haybrook this development will be well managed right through design, construction and sale of the site. Today marks the start of an exciting project, these new houses have been designed and will be built to the highest standards, and we’ve already seen lots of interest in the properties.”
