NPS was responsible for giving Wakefield’s Food Hall a complete new look following its closure last year due to operational problems, with our Castleford office advising Wakefield Council on the redesign of the hall’s interior layout in order to make it more appealing to customers.
As well as the interior design, NPS also provided mechanical and electrical services, drainage advice and supervised the works on site.
Thousands of people visited the new food hall on Saturday 31st July to mark its opening day and give it their seal of approval.
BBC Look North presenter Harry Gration cut the ribbon to declare the food hall officially open and got to taste the food on offer at the various stalls as he met with traders and customers.
“Having had the opportunity to walk around and see what the food hall has to offer it is easy to appreciate what an asset it will be to Wakefield residents, and what a draw it will be to the city’s visitors,” said Harry.
Cllr David Dagger, Wakefield Council's Cabinet Member with responsibility for culture, said: “…I have no doubt the quality of the produce and the bright, welcoming atmosphere of Wakefield Food Hall will soon make it an essential calling point as part of the weekly shop.”
