The Engineering Team within the NPS Building Surveying Group are able to offer clients a complete range of services to ensure that water systems within their buildings comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations.

The Approved Code of Practice (ACOP L8) ‘ The control of Legionella in water systems’ has been in force since January 2001 and NPS can assist clients in control of buildings to comply with their duty to identify the risks from Legionella and to manage, maintain and treat them accordingly.

Our services ensure that water systems are comprehensively managed, monitored and controlled and include:-

  • Risk Assessments with biennial reviews and risk management programmes
  • A full range of system disinfection and planned, preventative maintenance programmes for the management of legionella
  • Staff awareness training
  • Independent audits
  • Full water testing and analysis services
  • Annual and six monthly inspections
  • Upgrading systems to eliminate and control risk
